Resumo

Monitoring geological and hydrological phenomena presents a great environmental and financial interest for which several natural and artificial radioisotopes have been used. In this work, 7Be was used to determine soil erosion in three areas: a soybean culture, following in the direction of a topographical slope, one perpendicular to the slope’s direction and another one on bare land. The samples were analyzed by gamma ray spectrometry. The relaxation mass constant (h0) was 4.71±0.36 similar to other researches. The bare soil had the largest soil erosion out of all the three studied areas, while the soil redistribution rate was lower when soybeans were cultivated perpendicular to the slope. The technique was useful to be able to see the soil path during erosion.
